Woohoo made it to Melbourne!!!
This has what has happened so far...
- taxi driver to Brisbane Airport thought Noah was my "friend" not my son.. Good but creepy start to day.. (note to self. Wear this outfit more often. Obviously look younger than you are in it.)
- got the full security check AND bomb check at by security at the airport. Yep I am officially bad ass!
- on my excitement to get to Melbourne I had forgotten my fear of flying and had a mild panic attack while boarding (thank you Xanax!)
- realized I had booked a window seat ... Another little panic moment.
- empty seat next to me.. Woohoo!!
- seat belt fits better than ever!!
- way to close to the wing .. Panic!!
- force myself to look out and watch the plane taking off. Big accomplishment!
- Brisbane looks pretty. ( or that could be from lack of air from hyperventilating)
- seatbelt light is off . Phew!
- no smoking light is on. Now I need a cigarette!
- lady two seats down is good company and we check out the guy a few seats ahead of us in mutual appreciation. Great guns, like, really great guns. She starts talking about giving up smoking. Fuck! Now I want one more!!!
- Fact. Airplane coffee tastes like sewer water.
- I hate turbulence!
- I hate flying through clouds in turbulence! Keep imagining we will come out of the clouds and crash into the side of a mountain like in Alive. Wonder which passenger we will eat to survive. Decide as long as it isn't big guns I don't care.
- clouds clear and we are ok!
- really really need a cigarette after all that trauma!
- start to land. Hold breath until all wheels are on the ground.
- lady next to me checks to see if I need CPR, straight jacket or vodka.
- make way to the baggage pick up and run into a friend of my mum.
- see baggage and my bag as it is about to disappear for the second round. Make a mad ninja leap at the carousel. Rescue bag from the abyss much to the awe of my fellow travelers! ( they be hating on my ninja skills!)
- I really needed that cigarette!
- find a cabbie who is apparently not happy about taking me to Sunshine West. Death glare much! He obviously didn't see my ninja moves!
- he tries to take me for a tourist until I bring out Tally's step by step directions to Sunshine and meekly takes me where I want to go! Thanks Tally!
- finally get to meet Chris and Giles!
- now I need a nana ( ninja) nap until Tally gets home!
