In my 38 years I have realised a few things about me. Quirks if you will, that I thought I would share.
1/ I love reading but I am pedantic about how I read. When reading a series of books I HAVE to start with the first one and work my way through the series. It doesn't matter how many times you tell me that it makes no difference to the storyline if you start half way through the series I just can't do it.
2/ The same with movies. I have to start at the beginning. Also with movies that are part of a series I have to watch the whole series no matter how bad the sequels are. I don't want to feel like I have missed out on some integral piece of the overall plot. Not that Friday the 13th has a plot but it is fun turning down the sound and making up your own!
3/ Like most people certain music resonates with me depending on what I am doing. Howling Wolf if I am chilling, Ministry if I am stressed, Beastie Boys if I am in cleaning mode; Britney or Ricky Martin if I want to annoy the crap out of Noah.
4/ Self deprecating humour is my thing. I am not fishing for compliments or miserable with my lot in life. I just know my flaws and make light of them. If I am really down on myself I certainly ain't joking about it. You are more likely to find me depressed and not talking when I am really disturbed about something about myself.
5/ I am loud. I laugh loudly (and on occasion snort) ; I sneeze loudly; I talk loudly. It is me - deal.
6/ I lack long term motivation. I can get completely into the idea of eating right and exercising...for a month. After that it is too much effort.
7/ I love to sing in the car - again, loudly. Many a driver has witnessed my performances whilst stopped at traffic lights. I don't get embarrassed, they should thank their lucky stars to have gotten a free show.
8/ I am passionate about the people I care about. If I care I will go out of my way for you. If you fuck me over, you are dead to me. I don't like confrontation so I am more likely just to defriend you on facebook and be done with it than to go into some longwinded exchange.
9/ I love to laugh, usually at things that make people lift one eyebrow and wonder about my sanity. A biker riding a pink moped is hilarious! Get a funny bone already.
10/ As much as I try to deny it I thrive on drama. I am just a little more aware of this these days so I donlt let it control my life like I did up until a few years ago. My life is now less of a soap opera and more of a reality tv show (without the turkey slaps and sms voting)
I could go into alot more such as how I love handbags and old black and white horror flicks. Or how I think I am the funniest person alive after four glasses of wine. Or how I talk three times faster when I am happy. I guess all of it is a part of me.
What's not to love!
